Voice Band for the iPhone creates music from your humming for only $3

Wow, imagine you have an inner songwriter wanting to get out, but your Mom didn’t force you to take those piano lessons and you have no outlet? Or you are the lead guitarist and you want to show the drummer what it should sound like. Or even better you are practicing your song for American Idol and you want to show the band how it should sound to “make it your own”. Enter Voice Band. This app for iPhones and iPod Touches with microphone headsets lets you record tracks of a song using the sound of different instruments just by you humming into it. Record the lead guitar, then replay it and record the bass, replay and add drums, etc up to ten different instruments. And yes, I know you are wondering, it does correct your tune for pitch, so the tone deaf will still sound great. And the finale is that you can record the vocals too. Oh and if you have recorded a whole song in the wrong key for your girlfriend to sing the vocals, it’ll let you adjust the octave.

The instruments are; two guitars, bass, sax, 2 synths, drums (kick and snare at the same time), and a mic mode (for the vocals). The iPod player lets you play along with your favorite music. You can even add effects like distortion, reverb and delay. You can save your song and even email them straight from within Voice Band. Check out the video:

This all comes from a company called WaveMachine Labs, a software company known for its professional drum replacement software called DRUMAGOG, so they know something about music. Their other iPhone app is iGoG, which lets you play six different drums with your fingers for $4.99.
