Worms returns! No that’s good news: Armageddon on Xbox

Exciting news for fans of Worms and Xbox 360 owners as Worms 2: Armageddon is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Following the success of Worms on Live Arcade and celebrating the 10th birthday of Worms Armageddon, Team 17 has decided to bring the classic game as well as some new goodies to the Xbox 360 in one explosive package. Based on Worms Armageddon but also featuring the beloved landscapes and weapons from Worms 2, it’s impossible to see how Worms 2: Armageddon could disappoint.

To start with there’s new weapons; a sentry gun, electro magnet, bunker buster, buffalo of lies (watch out concrete donkey) and the super bunker buster. Even though the original arsenal was more than enough, these new editions sound like they could be huge fun, and the crazy ones like the buffalo of lies are guaranteed to be interesting and amusing. Familiar friends like the holy hand grenade (who cares that they stole it from Monty Python, it’s just as funny in a computer game), the super sheep (which requires ace piloting skills) and the concrete donkey, which is basically a concrete donkey that falls from the sky, obliterating anything in its path.

The gameplay has been improved and new things added such as new modes, character customisations and better game physics. Another big draw for me to this game is the level of artwork, which has been reinvented for widescreen displays (can I get a yippee! Worms fans). There’s more, there are now 130 level styles, compared to just six before as well as levels that rise vertically as opposed to the traditional wide levels. There is nothing that doesn’t sound appealing about this game, and should amuse fans and non-fans alike. The game launches today, and costs only 800MSP, which really is dirt cheap. So prepare to take cover as the worms are back in town and are just as big, but better than ever.

This looks like a game that belongs on a phone, not that I\'d play it anyway By US ChickSacrilege! Mobile phone versions do this game no justice, its a classic By SoupDogAgreed, even I like this one and it still looks good By HorridI dislike the idea of intelligent worms, I don\'t want them attacking my branch By Test ChimpI\'m with Test Chimp, what if they made it to the North Pole? By WalriDon\'t be silly they\'re not real or magic, and I can assure you my wand is worm free By Greybeard
