Become enraptured again, BioShock 2 emerges from the depths
One of the most highly anticipated games of recent times BioShock 2, a sequel to in my opinion one of the finest computer games ever made, hits stores today. Originally slated for release before Christmas but missing that deadline, which has probably proved a blessing avoiding the Modern Warfare 2 phenomena, BioShock 2 is available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 (yes at least one game where you don’t have to wait for the PC version, although saying that where’s the postman?) and every indication suggests it’s going to be better than the original.

In the original game a man named Jack crashes on a plane in the middle of the Atlantic (sounds a bit like ‘LOST’ doesn’t it) where, the only survivor, he makes his way to a nearby lighthouse. The lighthouse turns out to be the entrance to an underwater world known as Rapture, where Jack thinks he is being led to safety but is really just another victim in Ratpure’s dark history. BioShock 2 is set 10 years after the events of BioShock and for the first time players will get to step into the boots of a Big Daddy, the first Big Daddy. As the Big Daddy you will go in search of a foe that has been stealing little girls from across the Atlantic coastline and bringing them back to Rapture.
The Multiplayer in BioShock 2 takes players back to before the events of the original shedding more light on the BioShock mythology. Players will take the role of a plasmid test subject who will need to use all the tools that Rapture has to offer to ensure their survival.
Amazing to think we’ve had so many good games already this year and now we’re only halfway through February and we have BioShock 2, now if you’ll excuse me I think I heard the letter box.
