16 GB and 32GB Zune price cuts kick in for Valentine’s Day

If you have a Zune on your shopping list, the 16 GB and 32 GB versions just got more interesting, due to some price cuts. The 16 GB goes from $220 to $190 and the 32GB to $250 from $290. Yes, they are getting a tad old in the whole consumer electronics life span thing, and yes there are rumblings of new iPod Touches in the background. But seriously, despite the whole HD thing, you only had a $10 difference between the 32GB Zune and the 32GB iPod Touch, not enough of a difference to go pioneering over to the Microsoft camp for sure. The bigger price difference now makes the Zune a whole lot more interesting. But since you certainly won’t see a new iPod appearing before Valentine’s Day next Sunday I wouldn’t worry about that. If the better features (OLED screen, 720p video, HD radio and Zune Pass) are more important than the app thing, I say go for the Zune. If you order a Zune now, you will certainly get in time for a Valentine’s Day gift. I say take the savings, get a good bottle of champagne and use the new Zune for some mood music. The combination can’t go wrong.
