About Test Chimp

Test Chimp or “testus troglodytus” likes to take a 1000 foot view of technology, looking down from the safety of his tree (which is why he thought that the new phone from Palm was that, a Tree not a Pre).

Having worked for satellite and cable operators designing set-top boxes, Test Chimp feels he knows where they are going wrong, but has also worked with cellcos advising them on their strategy (yes but will the signal get through leaves?)

He doesn’t see himself as a technology ‘geek’ and prefers things designed FOR chimps (rather than people) over things designed by engineers just to show off what they can do. His treatise of “Designing devices for the modern Tree,” and his paper on “Technology which doesn’t require thumbs” both broke startling new ground and say a lot about his consideration for the various Simian half brothers which don’t have them.

Test Chimp can spend 40 minutes in a room with a TV, without turning it on, and that says a lot about him really. He has never been heard to say “Where do you think the On switch is?” though we suspect that once or twice he may have thought it. Email him in his tree here.
